A strangers just a friend you do not

know................... yet

Hi my name is Jake but most people call me Jakey,

Welcome to my website

This is me

If you live in Maldon and walk your dog in the Prom Park or Longfield Park, there is a very strong possibility that we may have met.

 Here briefly is my story

I was born on 7th  July 2007 and lived for a while with a family in Rugby, my old mums father was ill and had to come and live with us.

I was very young, they were worried that in my attempts to get him to play I might trip him over, so as sad as she would be to see me go, it would be in every ones best interest to  find me a new home.

She asked a Dog Rescue to help her with this and I was fostered with 5 different families over the next few months, and eventually adopted by a lady near Maldon Essex.

For some reason we didn't seem to understand each other, her other dog was very old,  he did not want to go for walks or play, but I was only 9 months  and raring to go, game for anything,

Perhaps I should have realised that my constant barking, and chewing her curtains  and carpet would make her angry, even if I was bored.

She asked the rescue to take me back, and a day or so later my present mum and dad arrived to take me away, they do voluntary work for dog rescues, and were asked to foster me for a couple of days until I could be collected.

I was a bit confused when I got to their house, everything was packed up in boxes???

I heard them say they were moving, whatever  that meant .

One morning a few days later, we went for a walk and afterwards they took me to a boarding kennel, I felt really sad as I watched them walk away, they were real fun and I enjoyed my games and walks with them, I thought that I had been abandoned again.

The next day they came back to collect me, I was so happy I thought my tail would come off, but they took me to an entirely different house,????

My now mum and dad  were asked, by the rescue to try to re-home me in the Maldon area, and they did try, but I had grown to love them and did not want to be moved on again, so I decided to work my charm on them and was a really good boy.

One day I heard my Mum say ' I really don't think I can let him  go',  Yeeessss result......... I knew that I had found my forever home.

They soon taught me what was expected of me, and never once shouted at or got angry with me, I was not bored anymore and stopped chewing things up, and now I only bark when  someone comes to the door

Here are some photos and videos of me and my pals of me and my pals

And now

I think I must be one of the happiest little dogs alive.

This is Archie

He was the first pal I met when I came to Maldon

Archie has soft chewy ears that I love to nibble, we used to wrestle and chase about, but Archie has had a bad back and so I have to be gentle with him now, though when he came round to see us last week it did not stop him eating all of the treats that I had hidden under my bed pad, he then went out in the garden an picked and ate all my dads runner beans that he could reach.

This is one of my best pals Lulu

Lulu chases me along the prom extension and onto the saltings,

we both usually get very muddy

Barney

Barney was a little dog who my Mum and Dad rescued from the police pound.

He was found a forever home here in Maldon with a very nice lady and her daughter, who both love him too bits, as he does them,

We sometimes see Barney and his Mum over the Prom Park, he even came to visit me once and we played in the garden.

March 2012

My mum and dad have been packing everything up in boxes, I think we are moving again.

April 12th

I was taken to Aunty Jills for a sleepover with my mate Lottie, they left me there for 4 nights, and when they came to collect me I was taken to a different house, it was quite a bit bigger, and had stairs, but the garden was a bit smaller.

We now go over the Riverside Park and I have met a lot of new friends,

Here are a few photos of them
